Indonesian students to study northern cattle

Eight Indonesian agriculture students have arrived in the Northern Territory to learn the about the Australian cattle industry.
The students will undertake training in animal husbandry, welfare practices and management techniques before working for six weeks on remote cattle stations in the Top End.
Tony Freshwater from the Northern Territory Cattlemen's Association says the program is aimed at strengthening relationships after the live export suspension last year.
"We're all in the same industry, we're just in different countries.
"It will be good to have someone at the other end who understands our cattle.
"From talking to the students, when they finish university they're all going to be in positions in government and in feedlots, where they're going to be receiving these animals and hopefully they would have transferred the skills on."
